Packaging Supplies
If you're moving house you will inevitably need removal boxes and packaging material to ensure your belongings are kept safe during transit. With the amount of different boxes and other material out there we've provided some information about the various packaging materials you may need during your house move.
Removal companies will often provide packaging supplies as part of their removal services however this cost will be added into the quote and each removal company has its own prices for boxes. For that reason it's best to shop around and look for the cheapest price out there.
Boxes
Boxes come in all shapes and sizes to fit specific needs. You can often times find good sturdy boxes at supermarkets or local shops that will perform just as well as any you choose to buy however it's not always easy to get hold of these free boxes in sufficient numbers.

Standard boxes come in many shapes and sizes. Some are designed to be taller and less wide whereas others are much more heavy duty and therefore shorter but wider. Its a good idea to choose a selection of different sizes as you see fit according to your belongings but make sure to get some double walled boxes as well as single walled. The double walled boxes are stronger and will allow you to put some of your heavier belongings in them with complete peace of mind.
Wardrobe boxes are specially desinged to carry your clothes as if they were still in the wardrobe. They come with a rail fitted across the top and also come in different sizes to cater for different garment lengths.
Books are heavy and as such filling a large and weak box with them will result in big problems. For books you can buy a smaller stronger box that will make sure the books don't fall out and that you can lift it when the need arises.
A picture/canvas/painting/mirror all need a special box. This can also be bought in different sizes.
Plastic storage boxes are strong, durable and reusable. They can be used to move anything but are especially good for things that are fragile and need to be kept from being crushed.
These are specially designed for cups/glasses and come with dividers to ensure there are no breakages.
Other Packaging Materials
Boxes will be the main form of packaging material required however there are a number of other items which would also come in use during your move. Some of these things are:

- Furniture covers
- Sellotape/Marker pen
- Polystyrene chips
